OVERVIEW:

The Modern School, Beliaghata having CBSE Curriculum from Pre-School to Class XII (Com) was founded in 1958. It is run by a well organized body with the sole objective of providing all round education to the children of the city.

ACADEMICS - Establishment of Modern School in 1958:

The School prepares its students to appear in the CBSE Curriculum at the Class XII level. Accordingly, the syllabus prescribed by the council for classes VIII- XII is taught.

For Classes I – VIII, adequate syllabus is prescribed and taught so as to equip the students to effectively deal with the board exams in the future. Innovative teaching aids like charts, out of class trips are frequently taken up.

AIMS & OBJECTIVES:
The aim of the institution is to impart sound education on recognized lines by moulding children in habits of piety, virtue, discipline and self reliance during the years of the studies, and above all to foster ideals of gentleness, enable them to stand in good stead to meet the challenge of the fast changing world.

OBJECTIVES:
The motto of the school is “ACHIEVE WHAT YOU AIM”.  All efforts are directed to the achievements of the objectives, considering that education is a social vehicle which must forge and become a source of new ideas.

FEATURES:
SPECIAL emphasis is laid on:
a) Wider awareness, deeper knowledge, strong character and all round development.
b) Sound learning and growth towards and increasing acceptance of responsibility by the students.
c) Individual attention & care.

UNIFORM:
The School has on campus a tailor shop providing the students with tailor made uniforms as per the school rules.

BOOKS & STATIONERY SHOP:
The stationary shop is equipped with text books, exercise books and stationery items like pen, pencil, erasers etc.

STAFF:
The school is headed by a dedicated and experienced Principal ably supported by a competent coordinator, qualified devoted teachers and office staff.

ACTIVITIES:
The association formed under supervision of the Principal & vice Principal (Administration) is very active. This association serves as platform for the students to sharpen their knowledge and skill. Frequent seminars, symposia and invited lectures are held on a regular basis. Students receive training in interview skills quality through association and group discussion sessions.

The library is placed in the ground floor with facility of reading. The library has a very rich collection of relevant books and journals. The library services at Modern School are provided to students for updating their knowledge.
The library has a rich collection of good books on English, Hindi & Bengali Literature for leisure reading.
